HOW QS AND CT WORK?

The QS is the qualifying circuit before the Championship Tour (CT). Each of the QS tests have several scores (10,000, 6,000, 3,000, 1,500, 1,000, etc.). It is the maximum points that the winner of the same will accumulate.

The riders get points in the tests where they compete. If they want to reach the higher level tests or the CT, they have to achieve as many points as possible.

In other words, surfers start from the lowest scoring tests (1,500 or 1,000) and depending on the level and the points they achieve, could compete in higher-ranking QS.

At the end of the period, the 10 surfers who got the best score go up to the CT, (where there are the 32 best riders in the world), while the 10 surfers that obtained the lowest score in the CT, go down to the QS.

However, the CT’s riders can also compete in the QS tests (which may keep the category). For that reason, the QS tests have a high competitive level
