Did you know that the ABANCA GALICIA CLASSIC SURF PRO ECO-LOGIC is held within a protected space?
The Pantín beach is included in a Special Conservation Zone of the Natura 2000 Network, called Costa Ártabra. It is in a protected natural area of high ecological value for the quality and good conservation of its sandy seabed, cliffs, intertidal zones, its beach and dune system.
Galicia has more than 1,300 kilometres of coastline, and it offers thousands of places of enjoyment and where it can be found hundreds of waves for surfing, being Pantín one of the most relevant places.
THE COMMITMENT OF ABANCA GALICIA CLASSIC SURF PRO ECO-LOGIC
ABANCA GALICIA CLASSIC SURF PRO ECO-LOGIC is an initiative of the Praia de Pantín Club based on the commitment to organize a sustainable event that will take care of the environment and facilitate sports practice.
For that reason, there are three main objectives: the respect of the environment in all stages of the productive cycle and the life of the product until its deterioration.
The second aim is the protection of the Pantín beach. There is an extended volunteer program, included in the European framework project, LEWO, of the Xunta de Galicia for the practical training of volunteers in areas of the Natura 2000 Network.
The third is the local community and visitors for whom it organizes and prepares a wide range of sports, educational and cultural activities in contact with nature.
WHAT CAN YOU DO IN ABANCA GALICIA CLASSIC SURF PRO ECO-LOGIC?
As in previous editions, ABANCA GALICIA CLASSIC SURF PRO ECO-LOGIC wants to receive you with a castro, invite you to discover the most flamboyant flavours, offer you the equipment to surf with sustainable products, which symbolise the natural and archaeological treasures of the Pantín environment, etc.
COMMITTED TO THE ENVIRONMENT
After the pleasant experience working with volunteers in previous editions, this year the objective is to extend the program with more and new activities.
There will be lessons in aspects such as: learning to guide the routes, how to attend and inform a visitor to facilitate their awareness and commitment; how to act with an injured bird; how to attend first aid…
IF YOU ARE A SURF LOVER, YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO TRANSMIT THIS COMMITMENT TO THE BEACHES WHEREVER YOU GO.
