
Twelve consecutive hours of surfing in the waters of Razo, taking full advantage of the great waves on a sunny, movie-like Friday.
The men’s and women’s finals of the international event will take place this Saturday 27th from 10:00 a.m., with the award ceremony at midday in the small surf village by the beach.
Razo, Carballo, September 26. – Today was the real deal. High-voltage surfing on a decisive day at the Edommo Junior Pro Razo, by Espazo Nature, this cinematic Friday at Razo beach, with clear skies, autumn sun, an enthusiastic crowd and, above all, excellent waves that allowed for a top-level WSL competition. The event has now advanced to the final rounds after a marathon day of consecutive heats from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
In the men’s category, the round of 64 and round of 32 were completed today, finishing in the quarterfinals. Reaching the semifinals are Eder Fuentes, Mario Leopoldo, Axel Domínguez, and Conor Donegan, while his brother Dylan —one of the main favorites for the European title— was eliminated. Advancing to the second men’s semifinal are Francisco Ordonhas, Joao Mendoca, Michele Scoppa, and Alfonso Suárez from Asturias.
In the women’s category, the semifinalists are Carla Morera de la Vall, Sara Romeo, Maria Salgado, Lilou Rumiel, Clara Hirigoyen, Enara Palacios, Clémence Schorsch, and María Dias.
The final rounds will take place this Saturday from early in the morning, with semifinals and finals followed by the award ceremony at midday in the small surf village of Razo, where the JQS 1000 Junior Pro Razo trophy will be awarded in the presence of local authorities and sponsors of the Edommo Junior Pro Razo, by Espazo Nature.
SHARED RESPONSIBILITY: ARTAI STUDENTS AND LOCAL MARKET
This Friday, to mark the end of the school week, about 60 students from 1st and 3rd year of secondary school (ESO)from CPR Artai visited the event in Razo. In addition to touring the venue and exploring the areas where international riders compete, they had the chance to take part in sustainable workshops organized by the “Espazos Corresponsables”of the Xunta’s Department of Equality —a free initiative promoting shared responsibility among young people at all WSL events in Galicia. They also tried their skills on the skate ramp and joined other free activities at the venue.
Remember that throughout Saturday, the minimarket will be open with local brands such as Kaviar, Cousas de Razo, and other vendors like Ventores, La Rampa Garage, and Ópticas Noroeste, as well as specialty coffees Pantín (coconut) and Razo (pistachio) from the Cafés Lúa coffee truck. This coincides with the opening of the Onda Bocata Fest, which runs until Sunday with 16 gastronomic offerings from nine local establishments, supported by the Carballo City Council.
