Pumping conditions open the female competition

National and international surfers conquer Las Américas beach.
Yolanda Hopkings earns the highest score of the morning with 9,17 points (over 10).

Las Américas beach (Arona, Tenerife) woke up this Tuesday, February 4 with the first female surfers entering the water for the first round of the Cabreiroá Pro Las Américas 2020 in women’s category, belonging to the World Tour League European Tour (WSL). 
 
More than 60 surfers are registered for the Canarian event, which during this first round has shown the top level of the athletes. So far ten heats of the initial round have been played, and although the wind has increased significantly, nothing has stopped these athletes from doing their best to surf the best waves that will take them to the next round of the competition.

National and international surfers have carried the spotlight in this inaugural day of women’s competition, some of the best moments that have been seen in the Cabreiroá Pro Las Américas 2020. Yolanda Hopkings, Portuguese surfer who is pushing hard, besides qualifying for the second round, she also got the best wave in the morning with a heavy score of 9.17 points out of 10.
 
For her part, the Spanish Leticia Canales advanced into round two and commented on how stoked she is to have been able to return to Las Américas and that, even with the wind against her, she is satisfied to have passed the round.
 
Tessa Thyssen, the French surfer, is another of those who advanced and confessed that she is excited about the great potential of the wave and that despite the strong wind blowing today, there are still great waves.
 
They also managed to pass Cannelle Bulard (FRANCE), Francisca Veselko (PORTUGAL), Sol Aguirre (PERU), Peony Knight (ENGLAND), Rachel Presti (GERMANY), Laura Coviella (SPAIN), Leticia Canales (SPAIN), Ornella Pellizzari (ARGENTINA), Karol Ribeiro (BAZIL), Marcela Machado (SPAIN), Teresa Bonvalot (PORTUGAL), Garazi Sanchez-Ortun (VASQUE COUNTRY), Ariane Ochoa (VASQUE COUNTRY), Leonor Fragoso (PORTUGAL), Maud Le Car (FRANCE), Bahia Frediani (FRANCE), Juliette Lacome (FRANCE) y Melania Suárez (SPAIN).
