In this first part of the day, the quarterfinals in the men’s and women’s categories of the World Surf League (WSL) Junior Qualifying Series event, GADIS JUNIOR PRO FERROL 2021, have taken place, and the competitors have been able to make the most of the good wave conditions to obtain the coveted pass to the semifinals.
The Basque surfer, Janire González Etxabarri, excelled, obtaining the best wave of the morning with a great 8 out of 10 points, and a total score of 14.50 points, the highest in her category. For her part, she added that “I am very motivated to compete since this test is very important within the Junior circuit, and I want to achieve the best scores to win the title of junior European champion again.”
Following her closely, the French Nahia Milhau has also stood out, achieving a total score of 12.33 points. She added that she is stocked with her results, she has achieved good waves that have guaranteed her to pass to the semi-finals and she is motivated to continue advancing in the competition.
In the men’s category, the Basque surfer Adur Amatriain was in the spotlight, obtaining the highest accumulated score of the morning with 14.80 total points and expressed that “there are great waves today and they are allowing us all to demonstrate our best surfing, which motivates a lot to keep competing and advancing”.
The French Kytann Foret and Sam Piter did also achieved very good scores, with 13.60 and 12.67 total points respectively. The latter declared that he loves competing in Galicia and is enjoying the wave conditions that have allowed him to obtain good scores.
The action is still on at Playa de Doniños with the dispute of the semifinals and the finals that will crown the champions of the first edition of GADIS JUNIOR PRO FERROL 2021.
