THE ABANCA PANTIN CLASSIC GALICIA PRO 2024 ALREADY HAS A DATE: FROM AUGUST 24 TO SEPTEMBER 1

Madrid, January 24:- The new edition of the Abanca Pantin Classic Galicia Pro was presented this afternoon at the Galicia stand at Fitur, the tourism fair that is being held these days in Madrid. The event thus reaches 37 years of celebration consecutively and without interruptions, a milestone that only three championships of this magnitude have achieved in the world.
As is traditional, it is in Fitur where the dates of the championship are revealed, which this year will be held between August 24 and September 1.

It is on these dates when there is a greater possibility of the waves shining in all their splendor on Pantín beach (Valdoviño), one of the beaches with the most consistent waves in Galicia due mainly to its orientation.
After revealing the dates of this edition, Yago Barreto (representative of the organization) stressed the importance of this event “continuing to belong to the prestigious World Surf League circuit, turning Galicia into the epicenter of professional surfing in our country.”
He also confirmed that the event will continue in the line of transcending the merely sporting, announcing some of the numerous activities that will take place parallel to the event: gastronomic, environmental, musical… a whole leisure offering that attracts an average of 100,000 visitors per edition.

The presentation ceremony was attended by political representatives such as José Manuel Rey Varela, mayor of Ferrol, who highlighted that the commitment to the territory and the sport of surfing have consolidated this championship as one of the most important in the world, with the relevance that this entails for the Ferrolterra region and Galicia in general.
Xosé Regueira, vice president of the Provincial Council of A Coruña, has expressed the importance of collaboration between the different public entities and private entities to achieve the celebration of events of this magnitude and the tourism promotion that it implies.
For his part, Antonio Casas (Galicia Tourism Agency manager) has highlighted the commitment of the organization he represents to sport as a catalyst for tourism.
Alberto González, mayor of Valdoviño, the municipality in which this event takes place, stressed the importance of the synergy between sponsors, organization and neighbors to successfully celebrate this international championship for so many years, a benchmark declared Festival of Tourist Interest in Galicia and in the process of being designated a Festival of National Tourist Interest. A brand in itself linked to the name of Pantín.
