THE ABANCA PANTÍN CLASSIC GALICIA PRO 2026 ALREADY HAS ITS FIRST CHAMPIONS

A golden finale to the adaptive surfing competition, which broke every participation record with forty athletes, including some of the best in their category worldwide.

PANTÍN, AUGUST 23, 2026.

The podium of the Abanca Pantín Classic Galicia Pro 2026 has crowned its first champions. The event’s first titles were decided on the renowned beach of the Concello de Valdoviño. The two days of adaptive surfing competition, with up to forty international-level participants breaking the previous participation record for these events, ended on the best possible note. A golden finale built on idyllic conditions, with half a metre of swell and calm wind, allowing the surfers to enjoy excellent waves.

In the women’s Prone 2 category (lying down, with assistance in the water), one of the sport’s leading figures, Marbella-born Sarah Almagro (with a total of 14.50 for her two best waves), claimed a new title with a clear win in the final over Upé Mikalauskaite (8.56) and Esther Bode (8.54). In Prone Open, Miguel Silva (14.50) came out on top against Antonio Muller (8.13), Marcos Tapia and Philip Wipfli. In men’s Prone 2, Pedro Palma (9.17) defeated Sebastian Bass (8.70), Pochat Pierre (7.30) and Julian Blecher (7.20).

In Kneel/Upright, Ibai Hervás (12.50) took the win in Pantín in the men’s category, while in the women’s category Habasque Chloé (6.76) beat Chris Heer (3.60). In Stand 2 Open, Xabier Ayestaran (9.24) took the top step of the podium ahead of Hugo Rocha (9.16) and Joseba Mercader (3.54). In men’s Visual 2, Pedro Rodríguez (6.80) beat Asier Correa (6.06), Ignacio Sole (6.00) and Dani Souto (4.30). In men’s Visual 1, Ben Neumann (15.84) took the win over Pablo Cabezas (5.63), Pablo Martínez (4.90) and Milan Rivoiro (4.60); Marta Jordao (10.00) took first place in women’s Visual 1.
