Tsuzuki won the Australian Bronte Macaulay in a final that she controlled from beginning to end, knowing how to manage priorities and getting her best surf, finishing with a score of 12.17 – 8.44.

Both competitors have had a parallel trajectory throughout the test since they started from the first round and have been demonstrating the reason for their presence in the final.

In the quarter-finals, she beat Brazilian Silvana Lima (13th of the CT), and Chelsea Tauch (Barbados), in the semifinals. For her part, Macaulay won in her quarter-final match against Philippa Anderson (Australia) and Macy Callaghan in semifinals (16th in the CT).

The third place of the Galician event is shared by Australian Callaghan (she eliminated her compatriot Isabella Nichols, leader of the QS), and Barbados rider Chelsea Tauch, who won in her match against the American Sage Erickson (2nd of the QS), winner of the Galician event twice.

The Japanese rider has been one of the protagonists of the current edition of the ABANCA Galicia Classic Surf Pro, up to twice the ‘Best Wave of the Day’ in the second round, with 9.07 points, and in the third round, with 9.00, thus also obtaining the ‘Best-Accumulated Score of the Day in a Test’ on each day, with a 16.33 points and 15.24 points.

Without a doubt, it will go down in the history of the Galician event, the duel that Tsuzuki maintained in the round of sixteen against the French (10th of the CT), Johanne Defay, where the two achieved a wave with a 9.00, but the Japanese was able to complement it with a wave of 7.33, to get the pass.

As for the Cabreiroá prize ‘Best Wave of the Competition,’ it went to the Australian Macy Callaghan, with a score of 9.40 points; who also obtained the ‘Best-Accumulated Acore in a Test’ of the competition, with 17.57 points.

Vicente Romero goes to the third round

In what the two tests of the men’s QS / 10,000 that were played in the afternoon session, the most outstanding has been the extraordinary performance of the Spanish Vicente Romero (only national rider remaining in the competition), which went on to the third round, after having eliminated a former CT, such as the Hawaiian Dusty Paine, and the Australian Ricardo Cristie (31st of the CT).

During the morning session, the Brazilian Yago Dora and the American Griffin Colapinto, both competitors occupy the 26th position of the CT, also assured their presence in the third round. The classification of Brazilians Miguel Pupo (former CT) must also be highlighted. Wigolly Dantas; and the Australian Liam O’Brien, who occupies the tenth place of the QS.

Finally, Spanish riders Andy Criere and Gony Zubizarreta failed to pass the second round. Criere had the classification very close, but one last wave of the Brazilian Marcos Correa made it not possible. Similarly, the Galician surfer Gony Zubizarreta could not be classified.

The ‘Best Wave of the Day’ was for the Brazilian Yago Dora, with a score of 8.83, while the ‘Best-Accumulated score in one Test’ of the day, was for the Frenchman Charly Martin, with 16.07 points.

The first call for the competitors of the men’s category will be from 9:00 a.m., having to play two tests of the second round.
