The elite of international surfing arrives in Ferrol from June 24th to 28th for a unique event that brings together sport, music, environmental awareness, and urban culture in an unparalleled setting.
Esmelle Beach will once again become the epicenter of surfing and entertainment, with five days packed with adrenaline, action in the water, and unforgettable experiences. Each day will surprise visitors with new activities, exhibitions, and experiences designed to be enjoyed far beyond the competition itself.
Following the success of last year’s edition, some of the festival’s most popular attractions return, including the International Surf Championship, the Food Truck Area, the Market, Surf Initiation Sessions, and the Skate Zone with its now well-established Skate Contest. This year, however, the festival takes things even further by introducing exciting new features that will enhance the experience for both spectators and participants.
Art will play a special role with the creation of a new space dedicated exclusively to visual and graphic expression. An innovative activation that will connect creativity, urban culture, and sport, naturally integrating into the spirit and energy of the event.
On the sporting side, the championship will once again gain international recognition by hosting an event on the Junior WSL JQS World Tour for surfers under 21 years of age, alongside the International Longboard LQS competition, the most classic and elegant discipline in surfing.
As a change to the competition format, the Galician trials used to select Wildcards will no longer take place. Instead, the top-ranked male and female surfers in the 2025 Galician Ranking, in the U16 and U18 categories, will earn direct qualification to the Pro Junior event.
The “Gadis Surf Festival Ferrol” continues to establish itself as one of Galicia’s major social and sporting events of the summer, bringing together thousands of people around world-class surfing, music, and urban culture. A unique experience designed to enjoy sport and an unmatched atmosphere by the sea.
