WORLD´S BEST LONGBOARDERS MEET IN GALICIA

Longboard Classic Galicia, organized by the Club Praia de Pantín, is included in the World Surf League (WSL) circuit, specifically within the World Longboard Championship Tour (WLC), being one of the competitions with a value of 6,000 (the only one in Europe) of the calendar, together with Noosa (Australia); New York (United States); and Taiwan.  

In men´s category, we find top world ranking athletes. The number #1 and 2019 winner of Noosa Longboard Open, Justin Quintal, will be attending Galicia´s event. Southafrican surfer Steven Sawyer, second in the ranking, along with australian rider Harrison Roach and the US surfer Taylor Jensen will make their best performance at O´Rodos Beach.

Batling for the 5th position in the ranking we find the australian Nic Jones, american rider Tony Silvagni and hawaiian Kaniela Stewart.  

Special mention to french rider Edouard Delpero who occupy´s the 9th place in the ranking and has won 2019 Longboard Pro Espinho- Portugal and Boardmaster´s Pro-England.

It is worth noting the presence of hawaiian Kai Sallas (9º), australian rider Clinton Guest (9º) and Kaimana Takayama (9ª). Piccolo Clemente (17º) faces this contest after winning the Oi Longboard Pro- Brasil last may.

Regarding to the women´s entry list, the quality level of participants is impressive. Leading the list, top 3 in the world raking: brasilean Chloe Calmon, hawaiian Honolua Blomfield and the US rider Rachel Tilly. 

Blomfield / Noosa LB – Barripp

Chloe Calmon seems to be unbeatable this year and favorite to win the ABANCA Galicia Classic Surf Pro. She´s won in Noosa Longboard Open and Oi Longboard Pro-RJ aswell. But participant´s level is really high and it wont be easy for the brasilian rider having strong rivals as Kirra Seale (5ª), the australian Emily Lethbridge (5ª) and french Alice Lemoigne (5ª)- winner of  Boardmaster’s Longboard Pro.

Other riders from the top #10 are Soleil Errico (9ª), Mahina Akaka (9ª) y Lindsay Steinriede (9ª) and australian Tully White (9ª).

The WLC 6,000 LONGBOARD CLASSIC GALICIA  will be held between August 28 – 31st at Pantín Beach (Valdoviño, Ferrolterra, A Coruña).
