The Brazilian Yago Dora and American Griffin Colapito, both competitors of the Champhionship Tour, managed to pass to the third round of the men’s QS/10,000, within the ABANCA Galicia Classic Surf Pro, which is being played on the beach of Pantín (Valdoviño, Ferrolterra, province of A Coruña) and that is included in the World Surf League circuit.
Dora and Griffin, both with the favorites band, thus fulfilled the forecast.
Spanish riders Andy Criere and Gony Zubizarreta failed to pass the second round. Criere had the classification very close, but one last wave of the Brazilian Marcos Correa made it not possible. Similarly, the Galician surfer Gony Zubizarreta could not be classified.
Therefore, the only Spaniard who remains in the competition is Vicente Romero, who has not yet entered the water, although he will compete after 6:00 p.m.
As for the other three disputed tests, we must highlight the classification of Brazilians Miguel Pupo (ex CT) and Wigolly Dantas; and the Australian Liam O’Brien, who occupies the tenth place of the QS.
Quarter-finals of the women’s QS/10,000
The women’s QS / 10,000 of the ABANCA Galicia Classic Surf Pro will play the final of the competition this afternoon (between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. approximately).
Before, during the day the quarter-finals will take place, with the following pairings: Bronte Macaulay (Australia) – Philippa Anderson (Australia); Isabella Nichols (Australia) – Macy Callaghan (Australian); Chelsea Tuach (Barbados) – Sage Erickson (United States) and Amuro Tsuzuki (Japan) – Silvana Lima (Brazil).
