The historic event celebrates its 33rd edition.
It is confirmed that between August 15 and 23, it will take place the ABANCA Pantín Classic Galicia Pro, at the beach of Pantín, Valdoviño.
Pantín beach will host one of the first sporting events with audience on-site in August after the end of the alarm state. The organization with the support of public institutions and private entities get together to consolidate the image of Galicia as a safe destination not only for surfing but for Tourism and Sport in general.
But the ABANCA Pantín Classic Galicia Pro will not only represent a great opportunity in the international sports arena but also for its neighbors, who every year welcome the event and collaborate in its implementation since the event generates a significant economic impact on the area.
With each passing year the ABANCA Pantín Classic Galicia Pro consolidates the number of participants and audience, as well as the prestige of the event, and this year, in its 33rd edition, it won’t be less. Top surfers have already confirmed their attendance in both the men’s and women’s categories.
Pantín beach is a leading destination when it comes to surfing, due to the orientation of the beach; the waves come in straight, which guarantees bigger waves with better formation. But the Galician beach does not only host large waves since its location ensures that even with a smaller swell the conditions remain optimal.
The main concern in this edition will be to guarantee the safety of competitors, workers and the audience, so a specific action protocol will be implemented on-site and will be enabled during competition days. Likewise, both inside and outside the event site, on the seafront and beach, it will be mandatory to follow the rules and specifications that the Health Authorities, the Xunta de Galicia, the Council of Valdoviño and the Organization itself will specify for the safe development of the test.
